Gov.
Bill Haslam appointed state Rep. Susan Lynn to the state Workforce
Development Board as one of only two members of the state legislature
who may be assigned to serve on the board, according to statute.
Lynn’s appointment will run through June 30, 2016.
“The Workforce Development Board is an interesting board
on which to serve, and I am very honored to have been chosen by Gov.
Haslam,” said Lynn, R-Mt. Juliet. “The board aids the governor and
provides him with opinions on issues concerning the expansion of
employment opportunities in Tennessee and on ways to help businesses
flourish.”
Lynn is a state representative for the 57th House
district, chairman of the Consumer and Human Recourses Sub-Committee in
the House, holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and is a regulatory
compliance manager for a large international corporation that makes
consumer products.
The Workforce Development Board’s stated vision is to
“generate opportunities, illustrate to the private sector there is value
added through partnerships, and promote Tennessee as a place where
people choose to live and work.”
The board works in conjunction with the Department of
Labor and Workforce Development to craft solutions that assist
Tennessee’s business owners.
